The Journey Retreat 2018- New Life Ranch

November 2nd - November 3rd, 2018

$0 - $99

The purpose of The Journey All Church Retreat is to connect with God and one another at New Life Ranch, away from the city and with one another in conversation, fun activities, prayer, meals, and in ways that cross generational, racial, social, economic lines so we are closer to one another as a body of Christ.

WHO

The Journey's goal is to have more than half of our church attend the All Church Retreat in 2018. We are praying for God's help, reducing the cost, changing some things up to achieve the very personal number goal of 100 Journeyers attending the retreat.

WHAT

The All Church Retreat was started in 2011 with the purpose of going away together to New Life Ranch (about one hour away near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border) and having an intergenerational time of fun, food, activities, prayer, and "unretreat" type activities. We are not having a speaker in 2018, and events will be focused on building connection as a body of Christ with God and one another. We will have the fun events again such as zip line, climbing wall, hikes, horseback riding, shooting guns and bows, and other fun games. We'll eat meals together and encourage mixing it up with generations.

WHEN

November 2-3, 2018

We will be staying one night (Friday) at New Life Ranch and returning Saturday night.

HOW

This year we will be attending church together at our regular site at Wright Christian Academy and not having two separate services as we have in the past. We feel over the years this has cost us energy, togetherness and extra money for another night's stay and two meals.

The cost has been reduced by half this year to increase attendance! You can still apply for scholarship, but we're encouraging you to pay the first $25 immediately when you sign up. If we can have this deposit early, it will help with planning, costs, and make the event much more joyful for those who help plan and grow concerned about the costs every year.

You can also be involved in serving and helping with activities such as planning a devotional time, leading a hike, having a fun activity for the children or teens.

We want to make a big effort this year to have all age groups, including children and families. Teenagers have activities and we know affording the cost is difficult for some but we have reduced the price and we hope to increase the number of teens this year. We also want to double the number of young adults who come. Finally, we want retired people and older adults to come and be part of mentoring conversations and fun times and meals together.
